The Global Externship Program
gives students a special opportunity for real life professional experience working on actual global public and private international legal issues for at least 130 hours per semester. Host institutions include the World Health Organization, the United Nations, and the US Government among others. Placements may be in Europe, New York and Washington DC as well as other cities of the world. This program offers students an unmatched opportunity to further their careers in a rapidly growing field of law. The program is an excellent opportunity to learn about the world of international legal institutions and issues and broaden career horizons.
Participating students are placed in the office of an international governmental or non-governmental organization or an office of the US government that is engaged in international activities. The student works in the office of the sponsor on legal issues and provides the sponsor with the results of their legal research and analysis. A faculty advisor coordinates with the sponsor organization on the development of the subject of study and terms of reference.
