The Honorable Vivian L. Rapposelli was appointed by Governor Jack Markell in 2009, to serve as Cabinet Secretary for the Delaware Children’s Department. Her focus is on providing a voice to the state’s youngest and most vulnerable citizens, while working with community partners to strengthen the programs and services available to the children and families in Delaware.
Prior to her appointment, Vivian spent her professional career in the legal field, most recently as the principal and found of Rapposelli & Gonzales, the first multi-lingual firm in the state of Delaware.
Vivian earned her Juris Doctorate from the Widener University School of Law in 1993. Vivian was previously a volunteer for the Office of Child Advocate as guardian ad litem, representing children in dependency/neglect cases. She currently sits on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of Delaware, the Widener School of Law Board of Oversees, as well as the Board of Directors for the Delaware Community Foundation. She is a member of the Child Protection Accountability Commission (CPAC), co-chair for the Children and Domestic Violence Sub-Committee of the Domestic Violence Coordinating Council and the chair of the Governor’s Consortium for Hispanic Affairs.
