Essential Legal Concepts
Designed to help students review important legal concepts in bar-related subjects, Essential Legal Concepts offers graduating students an expanded bar-review experience.

Students participating in the course take three practice examinations consisting of multiple choice and essay questions as well as one practice Multistate Performance Test (MPT). Students receive individualized feedback on all practice exam results.

Students seeking credit for the course should register online through the regular course registration process. Registered students are expected to attend all lectures and to complete all practice examinations including the MPT. Students with legitimate scheduling conflicts may be permitted to obtain course credit by viewing lectures by video. Enrollment by video only is limited and by permission of the course administrator only. Students auditing the course do not need to register.

Essential Legal Concepts, while designed to assist with student bar examination preparation, should not be considered a substitute for comprehensive commercial bar review courses. The Law faculty encourages students to take advantage of this opportunity because bar examinations are becoming increasingly difficult, and this program can help students meet those challenges. Please feel free to contact the Bar programs office for more information.
