Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law
Designed for healthcare or legal professionals looking to expand their knowledge of the legal and healthcare policy environment, the Master of Jurisprudence (MJ) in Health Law is a part-time program offered in conjunction with the Health Law Institute. The program will equip you with the professional tools needed for regulatory and compliance work, risk management, contract negotiation, and other health law related employment in hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and managed care organizations. Have a look at our admissions procedures and policies.

Degree Requirements
The MJ in Health Law is a part-time, evening program designed to take two academic years to complete. To earn the degree, you must complete a total of 30 semester hours of course work at the graduate level, 23 of which are required courses. The remaining 7 credits must be taken as health law electives. All degree requirements must be completed within four years of matriculation, and credits earned in the MJ program are not transferable to the JD program.

Curriculum & Credit Breakdown
For the first year of the program and the summer semester of the second year, you will follow a fixed course of study with other students pursuing the same degree. You will be integrated into the larger law school community for the remainder of your second year, when you may chose from a larger list of approved courses. The schedule listed below is merely an example. Please note that Health Law I and Health Law II can be scheduled together or separately in Year 2 (in any given semester, however, only one of these courses may be offered).
