June 16th - July 18th, 2008
In cooperation with the Department of Legal Studies at the University of Venice, Widener Law offers you the opportunity to take courses in
beautiful Venice, Italy for the summer, and enjoy tours of Venetian legal and cultural institutions.
Art, Culture, and History
Famous for the canals that run through the city as well as its long and colorful history, Venice is sometimes referred to as the “City of Bridges” or the “City of Water”. Enjoy the city’s rich culture heritage while visiting
St. Mark’s Basilica or the
Accademia museum gallery of pre-19th century art. If you’re interested in art or cultural history, then Venice is filled with
attractions that should satisfy your interests. You will have ample opportunity to travel through Italy and since Venice is well situated in the center of Europe, you can easily visit many other European cities, opening numerous possibilities for fun and exciting exploration.
Course Work
Students take one or two courses (up to 6 credits). In 2008, the courses are Comparative Constitutional Law, International Criminal Law & Procedure, and European Law (taught by Italian faculty). Visit the courses page for more
