Welcome to the International Law Society (ILS) web site. The ILS is open to all Widener Law students, alumni, and faculty. Our goal is to provide our members with a better understanding of and experience in International Law through panel discussions, guest speakers, and Society programming.
Of particular importance to our members is the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition
. Each spring, five ILS members, usually second year students, compete in the Jessup Competition. Competitors are selected based upon their interest, ability, and experience. The Jessup competition helps students sharpen their research and advocacy skills, both oral and written. Those who compete in the Jessup competition receive two academic credits for their time and effort.
Additionally, the ILS invites you to review Widener's International Law curriculum. Currently, Widener offers summer classes in Switzerland, Kenya, and Italy
. Those classes are open to all Widener students, as well as students from other law schools.
For more information, please contact the ILS executive board at the e-mail addresses listed below. Best of luck in your academic and professional endeavors. Want to learn more? Contact us. President
