Widener Law participates in and co-sponsors a number of job fairs throughout the year. These job fairs present students with the opportunity to interview with multiple employers at a given date and location. The following is an alphabetical listing of the various job fairs in which Widener Law participates. Each listing links to a brief description.
Most of the job fairs occur on a regular basis throughout the calendar year; therefore, many of the application deadline dates fall around the same time each year.
DELAWARE MINORITY JOB FAIR
-- Mid-August For Second & Third Year Students
-- Mid-January For First Year Students
The Delaware Minority Job Fair is sponsored each year by the Delaware State Bar Association and a group of legal employers interested in increasing diversity in the Delaware legal and business communities.

Applications for the fall job fair for second and third year students are available in mid-spring and are usually due by April or May.
Applications for the winter job fair for first year students are usually available in November.
Students submit application materials directly to the Delaware Minority Job Fair Committee.
Participation in the Job Fair is by invitation only and is based on the selection process of the participating legal employers. Invitations to participate in the Job Fair are sent only to those students who have been chosen by the greatest number of employers.
The job fair is hosted by Widener Law.
DUPONT PRIMARY LAW FIRM MINORITY JOB FAIR

These Primary Law Firms are located throughout the United States but are primarily located in California, Texas and the mid-Atlantic region.
Participation in this yearly job fair is by invitation only.
The DuPont Primary Law Firm Minority Job Fair has no application or registration fees; therefore, student applications are submitted directly to the Job Fair Committee.
The Job Fair is generally held each year during the month of August in Wilmington, Delaware.
Student applications for the August Job Fair are usually available in the Spring.
MID-ATLANTIC BLACK LAW STUDENTS ASSOCIATION JOB FAIR (BALSA)

EQUAL JUSTICE WORKS
-- October/November
The Equal Justice Works Career Fair, the only national public interest law fair, offers a unique opportunity for law students as well as graduates to meet with more than one hundred public interest employers from across the country at a single location.
This well renowned job fair is held each fall, usually in October or November.
The format of this job fair is unique in that the event offers pre-scheduled invitation-only individual interviews as well as informal "Table Talk Sessions." During the Table Talk Sessions, participants have the opportunity to ask questions of employers and receive information regarding the employers' programs and hiring needs.
In order to participate in the pre-scheduled invitation-only interview sessions, students must submit their cover letter(s) and resume(s) directly to the employer(s) of their choice. The employers notify selected students of designated interview times.
(Students must pay their own registration fee for the Equal Justice Works Conference which is held in conjunction with the Career Fair.)
NEW HAMPSHIRE LEGAL JOB FAIR
-- September
The purpose of the New Hampshire Legal Job Fair is to streamline the fall recruiting process for both the students and the participating organizations.
Students may interview with a large number of potential employers in New Hampshire and surrounding states in a short period of time.
Usually about 40 law schools participate. Law firms, government agencies, the New Hampshire Supreme Court, various county attorneys' offices and the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office are participants.
PATENT LAW INTERVIEW PROGRAM
-- Early August
If you are a second-year or third year student or a law graduate studying for an LL.M. in Intellectual Property and you have an interest in patent law, or if you have an undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering or technical science, you may want to consider attending this job fair.
This program provides the opportunity for students to interview with patent law firms, as well as law firms, corporations and government agencies with patent law departments. Each year, about 100 employers, 100 law schools and 800 students participate in the interviewing program.
Registration forms are processed through the Career Development Office.
Interview schedules are set and mailed directly to selected students by mid-July.
If selected, students must travel to Chicago at their own expense.
PHILADELPHIA AREA MINORITY JOB FAIR (PAMJF)
-- Early September
The Philadelphia Area Minority Job Fair (PAMJF) was created through a partnership of the Legal Recruitment Administrators of Philadelphia (LRAP) and Philadelphia Area Law School Administrators in order to address the issue of minority recruitment in the legal profession.
PAMJF offers minority students the opportunity to meet with large law firms; major corporations; public interest organizations; the judiciary; and federal, state, and local government agencies.
This job fair is not invitational; students need only sign up to attend.
To participate, students select 15 employers according to preference. Twenty-minute interviews are then scheduled by a computer program utilizing a numerical lottery system. Students do not receive interviews with all of their listed preferences.
Applications are generally due in May.
PUBLIC INTEREST/PUBLIC SERVICE CAREER FAIR (PIPS)
-- Early February
The Public Interest Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association and the Consortium of Greater Philadelphia Area Law Schools (The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University, University of Pennsylvania Law School, Rutgers University School of Law-Camden, Temple University School of Law, Villanova University School of Law, and Widener University School of Law) sponsor an annual Public Interest/Public Service Career Fair.
This career fair is usually held during the month of February in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Many Widener students obtain jobs through this job fair.
Students who participate in this career fair have the opportunity to meet with representatives of public interest and public service organizations to discuss career opportunities in one of two ways. Group information sessions with organization representatives are scheduled throughout the day; individual interview sessions are scheduled in 15-30 minute increments throughout the day.
This job fair is not invitational; students need only sign up to attend.
Because law schools must share interview schedules, space is limited. Therefore, students must pre-register in order to participate in the PIPS Career Fair.
In order to provide all participating students with an opportunity to meet with representatives, students are required to complete ranking forms expressing their top preferences. All ranking forms are compiled and a master interview schedule is set and distributed to all participants.
SIGN UPS ARE ON A FIRST COME-FIRST SERVED BASIS AND BEGIN IMMEDIATELY WHEN YOU RETURN FOR THE SPRING SEMESTER.
Each year, approximately 50 employers participate in the PIPS Career Fair.
Registration takes place during late November or early December.
