Login

How do I login to the system after the migration is complete?
Answer: Open an Internet Browser, type wumail.widener.edu at the URL address bar, click enter. This will take you to the WUmail log-in page. Please note there is NO www in this address.

What is my Login Id and password on the new system?
Answer: It will be your Widener universal ID and password, or you may know it as yourNovell Login Id and password.

What if I do not know my current Login ID and password?
Answer: Call your campus helpdesk and they will be glad to assist you.

What if I can not make the training, how do I get into the new system?
Answer: You can review the how-to’s under the ITS web page or login to the web access URL at http://wumail.widener.edu. You will need your Widener Universal ID and password.

What is my email address on the new system?
Answer: It is your LoginId@widener.edu

Getting Mail

What email client will be supported?
Answer: Outlook, Netscape, and Mozilla email clients only.

What browser is supported to work with the web login?
Answer: Internet Explorer 6.X and higher, Netscape, Mozilla and Firefox

Is the Opera web browser supported?
Answer: No, the Opera web browser is not supported at this time in the corporate webmail access of the email system. It can be used in the standard edition which is less resource intensive.

Campus Cruiser Users

What happens if I am a Campus Cruiser user?
Answer: Nothing, you can continue to use this account.

What should I do if I continue to use Campus Cruiser?
Answer: Keep in mind that the University has adopted the “widener.edu” domain to be used for all University business communications for faculty, staff and administrators. If you choose to continue using Campus Cruiser your main responsibility would be to forward your WUmail e-mail into Campus Cruiser.

What if I do not currently use Campus Cruiser, Muse, Cadet or Justice E-mail and would like to use the new system?
Answer: If you are a faculty or staff member of the University, you may login anytime after July 31, 2006.

How to I forward my Campus Cruiser e-mail into my WUmail?
Answer: Log-in to Campus Cruiser. Click on your mail. Click on “Filters” under your “Tools” tab. Click on “Forwarding Filter” tab. Type in your WUmail e-mail address, check of “enable Forward” and click “Save.” From this point forward, all the e-mail coming into your Campus Cruiser account will be automatically forwarded to your WUmail account.

How do I forward my WUmail to another e-mail address (e.g. Campus Cruiser)?
Answer: Log-in to WUmail. Click on “Options” in the Right upper corner of WUmail. Click on “Forwarding” under the Mail heading. Click “Yes” @ the “Forward Messages:” type the address that you want to send your WUmail e-mail to, click “Apply.”

How do I cut down on the amount of SPAM, now that I forwarded my WUmail into Campus Cruiser?
Answer: Log-in to Campus Cruiser. Click on e-mail. Click on “Filters” under the “Tools” tab. Click on “Incoming Filters,” click “New Filter,” at the filter type - type [SPAM] Set the Move to: “Trash” or “Bulk,” then click on the “Add Filter Conditions,” at the Expression List type [SPAM], click Add to List,” click “Add Condition,” click save filter.

Using a non-Widener email

What if I currently forward email out of the Cadet, Muse or Justice?
Answer: You will need to log-in through the web client to set your forward filter to your preferred e-mail address.

I want to use Outlook with WUmail, do I need Syncing software?
Answer Yes, you will need SyncQ to sync your Outlook application with your WUmail.
Before you download the syncing software make sure that all your Outlook settings are set-up for the WUmail server settings. Click on “Options” in the upper right corner of WUmail. Scroll down and click on “SyncQ” under the Downloads heading. Scroll down the open document to the Heading “Installing Outlook SyncQ,” click on “SyncQ.exe” and follow the install wizard to install the syncing software.

Is there any on-line help for WUmail?
Answer: Yes, there is a help function set up in WUmail similar to the Help section of Microsoft Office. To access the WUmail on-line Help section, log-in to WUmail, click on “Help” on the upper right corner of WUmail.

How do I change the amount of messages I see per page?
Answer: Log-in to WUmail. Click on “Options” in the upper right corner of WUmail. Click on “Settings” under the “Mail” heading. Under “Display – messages per page” type 250, click “Apply.”

How do I remove the preview page, so that my emails appear in a list format?
Answer: Log-in to WUmail. Click on “Options” in the upper right corner of WUmail. Click on “Settings” under the Mail heading, under the display category click “Hide” at the Message Pane, click “Apply.”

How do I get more choices then just plain text for composing e-mails?
Answer: Log-in to WUmail. Click on “Options” in the upper right corner of WUmail. Click on “Composing” under the Mail heading, click on “HTML,” then click “Apply.” You will now be able to change font size and type, color, create bullets etc.

How do I include the original e-mail in my reply e-mail?
Answer: Log-in to WUmail. Click on “Options” in the upper right corner of WUmail. Click on “Composing” under the Mail heading, click on “Include original inline”, and click “Apply.”

How do I set-up/remove an Away/Vacation Message?
Answer: Log-in to WUmail. Click on “Options” in the upper right corner of WUmail. Click on “Auto-Reply” under the Mail heading, click “Yes,” type the subject and in the body of the e-mail auto-response type additional information, click “Apply.” Do not forget to REMOVE the message after you return to work. To remove, simply click “No” at the Auto Reply to message section, then click “Apply.”

How do I set up a Signature?
Answer: Log-in to WUmail. Click on “Options” in the upper right corner of WUmail. Click on “Signature” under the Mail heading. Click “Yes” type in signature information, click “Apply.”

How do I change the Color Scheme in WUmail?
Answer: Log-in to WUmail. Click on “Options” in the upper right corner of WUmail. Click on “Color Theme” under the general heading. Click the down arrow next to “Color Theme” to view color choices. Click on the desired color theme and then click “Apply.”

Do I need to manually empty my Trash?
Answer: It is advised to empty your trash weekly, to optimize your quota status. The Trash section on your WUmail is automatically emptied by removing (1) day’s worth of email every 20 days. So, if it is 1/21, the e-mails dated 1/1 will be deleted automatically.

How do I look up another person’s e-mail address in WUmail when I am composing an e-mail?
Answer: Log-in to WUmail. Click on “New,” click on “To:” then click the down arrow and scroll to “External Widener Directory.” Type the last name of the person you want look up, click “Find.” Check off the name/address of the person you want and click “OK.” The address should now be in the “To:” field of your e-mail. Students can also be accessed from the External Widener Directory even though they all have Campus Cruiser e-mail addresses. All the student’s addresses end in @mail.widener.edu. Admin, Staff and Faculty end in @widener.edu.

Folders

How do I create a new folder in WUmail to triage/store my e-mails?
Answer: Log-in to WUmail. Click on “Mail,” then click on the down arrow next to “New,” then click on “Folder.” Name the folder and then click “OK.”

How do I delete a folder?
Answer: Log-in to WUmail. Click on “Mail,” double click on “My Folders.” A list of folders will appear. Folders that DO NOT have a delete (trashcan) option are system folders and CAN NOT be deleted. Folders with the trashcan icon can be removed by click on the trashcan at the end of the folder name, then click “Delete.” If a folder is deleted, so is all the mail in that folder. Always review the mail in the folder before you delete the folder, you may want to archive some of the messages to another folder before you delete everything.

Contacts (Address book)

How do I add a new contact to my Contacts list?
Answer: Log-in to WUmail. Click on the “Contacts” tab. Click “New,” fill in the contact information. Click “OK.”

How do I add names to my Contact list from the Widener Directory?
Answer: Log-in to WUmail. Click on the “Contacts” tab. Click the down arrow on the “Tools” tab; scroll down to “Find Directory Services.” Type the last name of the person you want to add to your contact list, click “Find.” Check off the correct person, click on the “Import” button, and then click “OK.”

How can I add a sender’s email address to my Contacts list?
Answer: Log-in to WUmail. Open up the mail of the sender that you are interested in adding to your contact list. Click on the down arrow next the name of the sender (From) and scroll down to “add to Contacts,” click OK.

Calendar

How do I access my Calendar?
Answer: Log-in to Wumail. Click on the Calendar tab on the left column.

How do I add a new Appointment/Event on my calendar?
Answer: Log-in to Wumail. Click on Calendar. Click “New.” At the Description tab type the Title information, pick a time and date. If necessary mark the event All-Day or Private. Click Add Event.

How do I invite others to the meeting?
Answer: After you have set up the meeting click on the “Schedules” tab. Click on User: Type the last name of the person you want to invite to the meeting. Check off the name(s) of the individuals you want invited, click on “Add Event.”

How can I make the meeting appointment repeat?
Answer: After you have set up the meeting, Click on the “Repeat Options” tab, select the desired repeat options, choose an end date, and then click “Add Event.”

How do I share my calendar with others?
Answer: Log-in to Wumail. Click on “Options,” (upper right corner of Wumail screen) click on “Sharing Controls” under the Calendar heading. Click “No” under “Publish Calendar.” Click “User:” type in the last name, click “Find,” Click on name – this person will be added to share your calendar, check off privileges. Click “Apply.” (Please note: By checking off “Modify Events” as a privilege, you are giving that person permission to add and delete appointments from YOUR calendar.
