REPAIRS:
All University owned computers and computing peripherals are supported by Information Technology Services (ITS) and will be repaired as needed. All University owned computing equipment will have an asset management tag located on the body of the equipment. Please call our support line at 2221 for Delaware or 1927 for Harrisburg for assistance.
ITS is not responsible to support non-University owned computers, computing peripherals, fax machines or copiers. If you have purchased equipment with personal funds, grant money, department funds or brought a piece of equipment into your office or department for use from home, and have a technical problem occur, you will need to call the manufacturer’s technical support number for assistance. This number can usually be found in your owner’s manual or on the manufacturer’s website.
Copiers are covered under a department leasing agreement with the vendor. For technical assistance for a copier please call the technical support number for the vendor.
ITS does not perform repairs on student owned equipment. Students will need to call the manufacturer’s technical support number for hardware and software technical support.
MOVING EQUIPMENT:
If you need computer equipment moved from one office to another, please call ITS at least 24 hours before you need the equipment moved. It is advised to schedule the computer equipment move during the furniture move. ITS will break down the computer system. The movers will move the furniture/equipment and then ITS will set up the computer system at the new station.
BACKUP FILES/RE-IMAGING:
Individuals are required to inform ITS staff of what files, applications, and profiles need to be saved off the computer. All back-up files are stored for 7 days in ITS on a secure server. After the 7 day grace period, all files will be permanently deleted to provide disk space for future backups. Please allow a minimum of 24 hours for re-imaging of a computer.
