Connecting to the Internet
For security reasons access to the Widener University Main and Delaware Campuses wireless network will require all users to enter a valid Widener user name and password. Guests will be required to only provide a valid Email address. This step will help protect the Widener University internal resources. Setting Your NetID for Wireless Access for XP
Once your card is setup correctly, you must enter the NetID for the specific campus you are on. To do so, follow the steps below:
  • Click on Start
  • Right Click on My Network Places (WINXP)
  • Click Properties
  • Right Click your Wireless Network Connection
  • Click Properties
  • Click the Wireless Networks Tab
  • Under the Preferred Networks section of the windows, click Add...
  • In the Network Name (SSID) field, enter the NetID for the specific campus you are on.
    • Main Campus - widener
    • Delaware Campus - widener
    • Harrisburg Campus - solhb
    • All NetIDs are case-sensitive
  • Uncheck Data Encryption and Network Authentication
  • Click OK
  • Click OK to finalize your settings
  • Restart your PC and you will be connected to Widener's Wireless Network.
Setting your NetID for wireless access for VISTA
  • Click the Start button.
  • Click “Settings.”
  • Click “Network Connections.”
  • Right Click on the “Wireless Network Connection.”
  • Click on “Connect/Disconnect.”
  • Click on “Widener.”
  • Click “Connect Anyway.”
  • Check off the “Save this network.”
  • Close all windows.
  • Open Internet Explorer.
  • Type in your Campus Cruiser Login Name (Username) and Password.
  • Select your campus.
  • You are now on the Widener Wireless Network
