Employment Information James is a partner in the Commercial Department of Pepper Hamilton LLP. He is head of the firm's International Practice Group, and a member of Pepper Hamilton's Executive Commmittee. He has represented a number of U.S.-based and international companies.

In December of 2003, the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) launched a chapter in Philadelphia, for which James was elected president.
The Philadelphia chapter joins Arizona, Atlanta, Captial Area (Washington, D.C.), Chicago, Connecticut, Houston, Minnesota, New England, New York, Northern California, North Texas, Research Triangle (Raleigh-Durham), Seattle-Northwest and Southern California, as the only chapters of this organization. The NACD is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the quality of corporate governance and focuses on providing information, education and research on all aspects of corporate board performance.
