WELCOME TO PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY
CREATING A SUCCESSFUL JOB SEARCH

This year the Professional Development Day Committee has organized Professional Development Day around the theme of Creating a Successful Job Search. Jumping into the job search without a thoughtful plan is like driving to an unfamiliar destination without a map, directions, or GPS. You will ultimately find your destination, but not without wasting time and energy and feeling frustrated and discouraged. An effective job search is an efficient job search. Identifying specific objectives, understanding available resources and focusing on specific tactics at appropriate times can help lead you through a challenging process to a successful conclusion.

This year’s program includes sessions on: Creating a Professional Presence, Positioning Yourself for the Job Search, Social Media for the Job Search and Beyond, Available Resources for your Job Search and How to Use Them, and Job Search Correspondence.

As you are aware, Section 504 of the Academic Code makes attendance mandatory for all students each year.
