Thursday, October 4, 2007, is a date that will be remembered by some Widener Law alumni for the rest of their lives. “What’s so special about Thursday, October 4, 2007?” you may be asking yourself. A little over a month after the announcement, Widener University School of Law’s Harrisburg campus held its annual private Pennsylvania Bar Induction Ceremony. On Thursday, November 15, 2007, twenty-eight graduates swore to support, obey and defend the Constitutions of the United States and of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at the Widener-only ceremony. The Honorable Thomas G. Saylor, Justice of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, presided over the ceremony, officially swearing-in the recent alumni to the Pennsylvania Bar. The ceremony was held in courtroom one of the Dauphin County Courthouse in downtown Harrisburg. Over 120 Bar passers, sponsors, family members, guests, faculty and staff attended the ceremony and enjoyed a congratulatory post-ceremony reception in the Assembly Room of the Courthouse.
Widener Law’s Harrisburg campus celebrated a pass rate of 89.53% for first-time takers of the July 2007 Pennsylvania Bar Examination. Many of the graduates have already begun their law careers in firms, private practice, corporations, and government. Widener-Harrisburg boasts over 2,300 alumni worldwide.
