Jerry Bergey, representative from Talbots
On April 3rd, the women’s portion of the 2nd Annual Dress for Success Fashion Show took place in the Barrister’s Club. Assistant Dean for Career Development LeaNora Ruffin and Jerry Bergey, a representative from Talbots, demonstrated appropriate and inappropriate attire for interviews and other work situations.
With help from several student models, Ms. Bergey demonstrated what would be proper attire for a job interview. She also explained the components of “business casual” attire. Professor Leslie Johnson made a special guest appearance as a model demonstrating several major fashion mistakes all in one package. At the conclusion, Ms. Bergey, Dean Ruffin, and Professor Johnson took questions and offered advice on everything from hiding tattoos and body piercings to preparing an “emergency kit” filled with extra hosiery, and stain hiding tricks.
