On Tuesday April 22nd, Jennifer Ellis, Esq. of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, spoke to members of the Harrisburg faculty and staff about different approaches to distance learning. She discussed the pros and cons of a number of different platforms for distance learning and stressed the need for interactive elements. The talk examined teleweb courses, chat rooms, message boards, websites, and a “virtual chalkboard”. Ms. Ellis also addressed whether new technologies would be difficult for faculty members to learn, and how user-friendly they need to be.
