This holiday season, the Public Interest Law Alliance
will team with local charitable organization Kind to Kids in an effort to brighten the lives of some underprivileged children. PILA will be purchasing and wrapping holiday gifts that the children have put on their “wish list.”
On Thursday, October 28th, PILA will have a table set up along Main Street in the Main Law Building to take pledges and donations. There are several ways to make a major difference in a needy child’s life, including making a small monetary donation, donating a Toys R Us gift card, pledging a $25.00 gift, or donating seasonal wrapping paper, ribbons, and bows.
For those who cannot make it to the table on October 28th, PILA will post a TWEN sign-up sheet for pledges. A pledge is a promise to provide a $25 donation by the mid-November deadline. There will also be a sign-up sheet for the “shop and wrap” party in November.
Make a difference in an underprivileged child’s life and honor your school and your profession by giving back to the Wilmington community. Students who pledge may be eligible for up to an hour of pro bono credit.Update from PILA
The toy drive raised 260 dollars on table day with an additional 25 pledges, tons of toys and books were donated. With the pledges and the money that has already been donated, we anticipate buying about 30 gifts. We would like to thank everyone for their support, and would like to remind everyone we will be taking pledges and cash, toy, or book donations through 11/15/2010 on the PILA TWEN page, or you can contact Nicole Phillips at email@example.com
