Relay for Life Fundraiser Sees Professors Lend Time as Celebrity Bartenders

In order to raise additional funds for the upcoming Relay for Life event scheduled for Saturday, October 15th, students and faculty on the Harrisburg campus held a second celebrity bartending event on Friday, October 7th at Molly Brannigans from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Tips from the evening benefited the Relay for Life event.

Professors Dionne Anthon, Juliet Moringiello, Tonya Evans, Jennifer Lear, and Associate Dean for Faculty Research and Development Ben Barros joined students Peter Aziz, Adam Rarich, and Kristin Potter to serve as bartenders. Over $300 was collected at the event and 100% of the profits will go to Widener’s Relay for Life.

Megan Henry, who is the Chair of the Relay for Life committee, said, “The celebrity bartending event was a huge success. Everyone had so much fun.”

The first celebrity bartending event, which also benefited Widener’s Relay for Life, was held on September 23rd and raised $250. Participating bartenders included Chris Robinette, John Capowski, Michael Dimino, and Dean of Students Keith Sealing along with students Adam Gibbons, Kristin Potter, Sam Shusterhoff, Janaki Theircakmuran, and Timonthy Condus.
