PRELAWADVISORNewsPromo235On Thursday, November 10th and Friday, November 11th, Widener Law’s Harrisburg campus will host the Widener Pre Law Advisor Summit.

Despite the growing number of stories in the national media questioning the value of law school, for many students there are a number of personal, financial, and professional reasons to pursue a legal education. Widener’s Pre Law Advisor Summit will present data based on national studies and on the experiences of Widener Law alumni to show how legal careers progress and how compensation grows over time. A panel of alumni working in a wide range of legal and non-legal fields will discuss their personal experiences.

Featured speakers for the event include former Congressman Patrick J. Murphy, a 1999 graduate of Widener Law’s Harrisburg campus, and Widener Law Dean Linda L. Ammons, the first woman and the first African American to lead Widener Law, and one of only seven African American females in the nation serving as dean of a law school. Former Congressman Murphy will speak about his own personal experiences in law school during a dinner event on Thursday following registration at 6:00 p.m. Dean Ammons will serve as the keynote speaker at the luncheon on Friday the 11th from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m.
