Widener Law Alumna Named U.S. Magistrate Judge

2012SusanSchwabUSMagistrateNewspromoHarrisburg campus alumna Susan E. Schwab, who graduated in 1992 as class valedictorian, was recently appointed a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania at Harrisburg.

Schwab has served as a member of both the law school’s Board of Overseers and the Diversity Advisory Board. A graduate of Wilkes University, she has also has been active in the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Profession.

Following time at both Rhoads & Sinon LLP and Semanoff, Ormsby, Greenberg and Torchia LLC, Schwab left private practice for government service in 2001 and was appointed Deputy Chief Counsel for the Pennsylvania Department of the Auditor General and later for the Pennsylvania Treasury Department. She has also served as Deputy State Treasurer for Administration for the Pennsylvania Treasury Department. Most recently, she served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration and Deputy Chief Counsel for the Democratic Caucus of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
