Widener Law is seeking Delaware licensed attorneys to assist with its next Wills For Heroes
estate-planning event for the First State.
The event will be held Saturday, Oct. 5
at the Sussex County EMS Paramedic Headquarters
at 22215 DuPont Blvd.
. Attorney volunteers will have training from 9 to 11 a.m.
and then take appointments, which begin at 11:30 a.m
. Final appointments are scheduled for 3 p.m. and the event is expected to conclude by 5 p.m.
The morning training is mandatory for all first-time Wills For Heroes volunteers. Those who participate will receive two free continuing legal education credits. Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided to the volunteers and parking is free. Volunteers may serve for all or part of the event.
The program is also seeking notary volunteers. Law students are encouraged to volunteer to assist the attorneys as they prepare legal documents.
All volunteers will join Widener Law faculty, staff and alumni in presenting this valuable public service to Delaware’s first responders. The Wills For Heroes program provides free estate-planning documents, such as wills, durable personal powers of attorney and advance directives, to Delaware first responders and their spouses or partners. It is open to volunteer and paid, sworn and civilian members of the state, local, county and federal law enforcement, parole, probation, fire, EMS and other first-responder communities who live or serve in Delaware.
Those interested in volunteering should contact event coordinator Damiano "Dom" del Pino at firstname.lastname@example.org
or call 302-477-2016 and leave contact information on the voice mail.
