SupremeCtStatueSmallMembers of the Widener Law faculty from both campuses will preview the upcoming U.S. Supreme Court term in a live webinar-style event open to the law school community.

The hour-long broadcast will begin at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 and feature professors from both law campuses. It is intended to assist members of the news media in determining the news value of cases and legal issues coming before the court in the new term. It is also open to those in the law school community who want to learn more about what to expect out of Washington this year.

“This gathering showcases the depth of talent on our Widener Law faculty,” Public Relations Officer Mary Allen said. “Our professors do a tremendous job boiling down these often complicated issues into summaries that shed light on what is at stake for the American people.”

The preview, which has been an in-person luncheon in previous years, is organized in a spirit of public service by the Public Relations Office. It was moved online this year to expand its reach. The event will include presentations on cases involving securities fraud, the environment, cell phones and privacy, election law, contraception, free speech outside abortion clinics, and more. There will be limited time for questions.
