The article was part of an “Electronic Eye in the Sky” series and looked specifically at the potential legal implications of the increasing use of drones in civilian airspace. Professor Power noted that there are currently very few regulations regarding the use of drones in civilian airspace, but noted that legal rulings on the Google Street View program might offer some precedents.
“The use of these devices will increase exponentially as people find more uses for them – legitimate uses – but it also opens up the door to the invasion of privacy,” Power concluded.
