Harrisburg Professor to Speak at 2015 AALS Annual Meeting Symposium

Associate Professor and Director of the Law and Government Institute Jill E. Family in London.

Associate Professor Jill E. Family will be a speaker during the second Association of American Law Schools Annual Meeting symposium, titled “Congressional Dysfunction and Executive Lawmaking during the Obama Administration.”

The 2015 AALS Annual Meeting is scheduled for January 2nd through January 5th in Washington, D.C. The symposium is scheduled for the final day, Monday, January 5th, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The AALS Committee on Special Programs at the Annual Meeting, which currently includes Widener Law Professor D. Benjamin Barros, selected the topic from a strong pool of proposals citing its “broad appeal.”

The Director of the Law and Government Institute, Professor Family teaches and writes on immigration law and administrative law. Professor Family was a Visiting Scholar at Queen Mary School of Law in London, England in the Spring of 2012, where she studied the immigration courts for a comparative study of the immigration court systems of the United States and the United Kingdom.
