Paralegal Studies
If you are interested in a career as a paralegal Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies simultaneously with an ABA approved Paralegal Certificate, an Associate of Science in Paralegal Studies simultaneously with an ABA approved Paralegal Certificate, or pursue an ABA approved Certificate of Completion in General Paralegal Studies in either a standard or One Summer Certificate Program. Certificates of Completion in Paralegal studies approved by the ABA are also available in: Estate Administration, Litigation, Real Estate, Health Law, Criminal Law, Corporate Law, or Intellectual Property. LEI @ Widener Law Center will educate you in the theory, philosophy, and practice of the law in order to prepare you for employment in one of America’s fastest growing professions.

Legal Nurse Consultant
LEI @ Widener Law Center also offers a Legal Nurse Consultant Certificate program (LNC) that is open to applicants who have a current Registered Nurse license and either an Associate of Science in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or a Masters in Nursing. The LNC program merges medical and legal knowledge to enhance your training and prepare you for a rewarding career as a Legal Nurse Consultant. All of our courses are taught by experienced Legal Nurse Consultants and Attorneys to prepare the Legal Nurse Consultant student with the ability to act as an expert or as a consultant in a variety of legal settings from medical malpractice to social security disability law, fraud and abuse, to pharmaceutical and risk management positions. LEI @ Widener Law Center now offers an LNC Consultant Certificate with Concentration in Forensic Nursing. A forensic nurse receives specialized training that adds marketable legal skills that allow you to pursue diverse employment opportunities.

Attendance Policy
LEI @ Widener Law Center maintains that no student may miss more than twenty percent of the regularly schedule classes.

Therefore, LEI has developed the following attendance policy for all legal courses with an” LEI” course designation as follows:

No student may miss more than twenty percent (20%) of the regularly scheduled classes in any course. As part of the LEI academic code, students will receive a failure grade (“F”) for excessive absences in required course and a withdrawal grade (”W”) in an elective course. No more than 3 classes may be missed during the Fall or Spring semesters; no more than 2 classes may be missed during each Summer semester.

Students who miss more than twenty percent (20%) of regularly scheduled classes due to exceptional hardship may petition the Assistant Dean and Director of LEI for an incomplete (“I”) grade which must be completed by the mid-point of the following semester.

ABA Approved
LEI @ Widener Law Center offers Paralegal and Legal Nurse Consultant Programs approved by the American Bar Association. LEI is affiliated with Widener University School of Law and is located on the Delaware campus. LEI students have access to the vast resources of the Widener Law Library.
