Policies for LEI Transfer Students
Policies
In order to be considered for admission as a transfer student at LEI @ Widener Law Center, students must be in good academic, disciplinary, and financial standing.
Students must have at least a 2.00 cumulative GPA for admission consideration. If a student has attended multiple institutions, the admission decision will be based on an average GPA from all institutions.
Admission decisions are generally made during the semester prior to the anticipated start term. Therefore, students are admitted before their final semester grades are available. It is the expectation that students will submit their final transcript and will successfully complete their current coursework. If the official final transcript does not demonstrate successful completion, the Office of Admissions will revoke the offer of admission.
Students who already have a Bachelor's degree and are seeking a second Bachelor's degree at LEI @ Widener Law Center are considered transfer students and should follow the transfer process.
Transfer Credit
A transfer credit evaluation will be completed at time of application and included with the acceptance packet. Changes may be made to this evaluation after meeting with an academic advisor.
LEI @ Widener Law Center generally accepts credits from an accredited college or university that correspond and are useable in the LEI @ Widener Law Center curriculum to which the student has applied.
The broad policy for acceptance of General Education transfer credits are published on the University College website at
www.widener.edu/uc
. All transfer credits are evaluated by the Assistant Dean of LEI and are compared within Articulation Agreements as well as on a course by course basis. Further, transfer credits will not be awarded for more than one half of the courses required in the major subject area in either the Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program.
The following are specific considerations for awarding transfer credits:
Course work must come from a regionally accepted institution on a case-by case basis.
Course work is placed against requirements of the Program.
Grades of C- or lower will not be accepted for transfer.
Transfer students must have an overall 2.0 GPA to be considered for acceptance.
The final determination of transfer is made by the Assistant Dean.
LEI @ Widener Law Center seeks affiliations with numerous two-year institutions and currently holds affiliations
