Favorite Movie:The Sixth Sense.
Why Admissions Work?I really value the opportunity to meet and interact with eager, bright-eyed aspiring lawyers.
On Common Personal Statement Mistakes:People often don’t spend enough time on their personal statements. In addition to the grammar and punctuation mistakes that can lead to, I often read disjointed personal statements that lack cohesiveness.
Favorite Personal Statement:One applicant wrote a personal statement about his experience working at a community pool. He wrote about the lessons he learned from a particular older woman who came every day, and how his conversations with that woman gave him a different perspective on life.
What Makes a Good Letter of Recommendation?I like to see details about the person, not generic, flowery adjectives that the recommender thinks might help the applicant get into law school.
On the Benefits of Attending Law Fairs or Forums:They can expose attendees to the breadth and variety of law schools that are available and the opportunity to interact with representatives from those schools. Many applicants don’t take full advantage because they are focused on a brand name. They might miss the opportunity to find the school that would be the best fit for them.
