In the interest of the people
Lindsay Feltzin ’08 saw law school as an avenue of opportunity—for herself and for her ability to help others. For Feltzin, that avenue runs right through Widener Law.

Public interest law has always been interesting to me,” Feltzin says. “Widener Law offers great opportunities to find career success in a field where I can really touch people’s lives.”

The third-year student has already touched a number of lives. Through internships at Women Against Abuse and Community Legal Services, Feltzin has provided legal services to victims of domestic abuse and struggling families. She’s offered safety to abused women in the form of restraining orders and has represented parents in dependency and neglect cases.

To maximize her educational experience, Feltzin’s also taking advantage of the opportunities right on Widener Law’s Delaware Campus. She serves as vice president of the Public Interest Law Alliance and participates in Widener Law’s Pennsylvania Civil Law Clinic.

“In the Clinic, I’m working on real custody and support cases for low-income people,” Feltzin says. “I love the practical aspect of my education.”

Feltzin says she also loves the supportive environment at Widener. The School offers resources such as The Public Interest Resource Center, which helps students find public interest positions as well as means to support their education. Feltzin, for example, was awarded the DuPont, PILA, and Subaru Public Interest Fellowships for her commitment to public service.
