About the Events

• Awards Reception Recipients of various scholarship and commencement awards, donors, families and friends are invited to attend this special presentation and reception. It begins at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, in the Vale Moot Court Room with the reception immediately following. Invitations will be sent following the final determination of the awards. See the Slideshow.
• Barristers' Ball The Student Bar Association sponsors this semi-formal/formal ball in celebration of the graduating class. All students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend. The Ball will be held at the DoubleTree Hotel, on Thursday, May 17. Tickets can be purchased through the Student Bar Association.
• Commencement Ceremony This ceremony in celebration of the achievements of the graduates of December 2006, May 2007, and July 2007 will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, on the Lawn in front of Geesey House and Polishook Hall. Graduates should report to the Law Building by 2:30 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the Schwartz Field House on the Widener University campus in Chester, Pennsylvania (see section on inclement weather). The instructions, robing, and formation of the processional will take approximately one and a half hours. The ceremony will end at approximately 6:00 p.m. Guest tickets are not required unless the ceremony is moved to the Field House due to inclement weather. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the Law Building, on the Lawn or in the Field House.
• Commencement Reception All graduates, their families, and guests are invited to attend a reception immediately following the Commencement ceremony at the tent on the Lawn in front of the Law Library. Light refreshments, champagne, and soda will be served.
• Legacy Any member of the graduating class who is related to an alumni of the law school may invite the alumni to participate in the Commencement ceremony. Please contact Suzanne Watts at (302) 477-2170 for additional information.
