Financial Aid Verification
Financial Aid Verification The Department of Education annually selects a number of financial aid applications for a process of verification. This process was developed to ensure that students are receiving appropriate award amounts and that income and asset information is being reported correctly. Students selected for this process will be required to submit a copy of their most recent Federal Tax Return Transcript and a Verification Worksheet.
Federal Tax Return Transcripts can be obtained from the IRS website at www.irs.gov or by calling 1-800-908-9946.
  • If you used the IRS Data Retrieval Tool on your 14-15 FAFSA, you do not need to submit a Tax Return Transcript.
  • If you have not yet used the IRS Data Retrieval Tool on your 14-15 FASFA, you can log back onto www.fafsa.ed.gov and transfer your 2013 IRS Tax Return information.
  • If you are unable to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool on your 14-15 FAFSA, you must request a copy of your Federal Tax Return Transcript from the IRS.
The verification worksheet can be obtained from the Financial Aid Office or by clicking the link under your program below. After an initial review, students will be notified of any additional documentation required to complete their financial aid files.
