Entrance and Exit Counseling
Exit Counseling
Graduating students who received a Federal Perkins Loan, William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan, Federal GradPLUS Loan, or Widener's Tuition Deferred Loan are required by federal law to attend an exit interview. The Financial Aid Office schedules these in-person counseling sessions for JD students to give you valuable information about repaying your educational loans. You will need to bring your driver's license and the names and addressess of your next of kin as well as contact information for two people you wish to use as references.

MJ and LEI students may complete the exit counseling requirement online at http://studentloans.gov . The Financial Aid Staff is available after the online session is completed to answer questions or clarify options at (302) 477-2272.

Entrance Counseling
Students receiving financial aid at Widener law school for the first time (entering students and returning students borrowing for the first time) must complete entrance counseling per federal regulations. Entering students attend a /required /session as part of their Introduction to Law orientation week. Returning students that did not attend their required session during orientation can contact the Financial Aid Office for instructions.

Failure to complete entrance counseling will result in a hold on all disbursements.
