At the annual Relay for Life, students, faculty, staff, and student groups helped to raise money for The American Cancer Society. According to Student Bar Association President, Kristin Potter, there has been more than $13,000 raised thus far, and donations are continuing to be counted. At the Event, Students and Faculty were seen walking countless laps around campus, each one pushing the total money raised slightly higher.

The Black Law Students Association was a prominent presence at the event. “We seek to increase diversity, and for everyone to empower themselves so that we may strive for excellence together,” said a group member. The student organization was on scene to highlight the growing cancer rates among the minority community, and to raise funds. To do so, the group raffled gift cards and did laps around the campus parking lot. Along with their Relay for Life efforts, the group is currently engaged in organizing a clothing drive, as well as a food drive for a disadvantaged family.
