sbaHaitiAuction “We were hoping for a thousand dollars, but we far exceeded our expectations. The way the school came together was amazing," said Ashley Tito, Vice President for Student and Alumni Relations of the Delaware Student Bar Association, of efforts to raise money for relief efforts in Haiti after the devastating earthquake that struck the island nation on Tuesday, January 12th.

All together, student efforts on the Delaware campus raised $2,072.50. The money will go to the charity Doctors Without Borders to help provide much needed medical relief to the citizens of Haiti. The Delaware SBA sponsored a Quizzo Night at Scrimmages that raised $335 dollars, as well as a two-day bake sale that netted $437.50.

Working in conjunction with the SBA, the American Association for Justice sponsored a Student Auction on Wednesday, January 27th at Scrimmages. The auction alone raised $1,300 dollars. Associate Professor Leslie Johnson kicked off bidding at the Auction by bidding on cupcakes provided by student Lindsey Anderson.

Special thanks for the fundraising efforts go out to SBA President Destiny Prater, Ashley Tito, and the Executive Board of the Student Bar Association as well as American Association for Justice President Damiano “Dom” P. del Pino and Treasurer Mary E. Lenti.
