Harrisburg Campus to Host East Shore YMCA Teen Achievers

Widener University School of Law’s Harrisburg campus will host the East Shore YMCA Teen Achievers on Saturday, November 20, 2010 as part of the school’s commitment to diversity outreach efforts.

The program will open at 10:30 a.m. with a welcome Eric M. Kniskern, the Director of Admissions for the Harrisburg campus. He will also speak to the students about the law school admissions process. Alumna Clarissa L. Freeman ’08 will present “Developing a Professional Identity,” at 11:00, as she speaks to the students about her rewarding legal career.

At 11:30 a.m., the students will hear from Harrisbirg-area attorney Alphonso Arnold, Esq., who will speak about “Legal Issues in Business Enterprises.” Following lunch, Widener faculty will introduce the high schools students to the rigors of law school through a series of legal problem solving exercises. Participating faculty include Dionne Anthon, Monica Cliatt, David Raeker-Jordan, and Starla Williams.

Following a tour of the campus with members of the Black Law Students Association, the day will conclude with a question and answer session hosted by student leaders.
