Widener Law Community Invited to Special Program with Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer

StephenBreyer235On Thursday, October 13th, Stephen G. Breyer, Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court will deliver a talk titled “Making Our Democracy Work: A Judge’s View” at the Crystal Tea Room in the Wanamaker Building in Philadelphia. The World Affairs Council of Philadelphia is sponsoring the event.

The Wanamaker Building is located at 100 Penn Square East in Philadelphia. Registration for the program begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at 12:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow.

In his remarks, Justice Breyer will discuss how the Supreme Court can promote workable government without compromising constitutional principles. He will also examine what the Court can do moving forward to help make democracy work and maintain the public's confidence.

As a Cooperating Organization, members of the Widener Law Community enjoy a special rate of $95 to attend the program and the luncheon and receive a signed book or may just attend the program for $25. A limited number of full-time students with valid identification will have the opportunity to register for just the program for only $10.
