The event, presented by the law school in cooperation with Capitolwire, will provide an opportunity for Democrat David W. Wecht and Republican Vic Stabile to answer questions in anticipation of the Nov. 8 election. Capitolwire is a prominent online subscription-based news service that covers political and legal news in the Commonwealth.

The forum will take place Friday, Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. in room A180 of the administration building. The candidates will take questions from Professor John L. Gedid, director of Widener’s Law & Government Institute, and reporter Peter DeCoursey, bureau chief of Capitolwire.

The event is open to the public and students are especially encouraged to attend.

Wecht is currently an Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas judge. Stabile is a private practitioner specializing in complex commercial and business litigation.

The discussion will also be recorded and broadcast by Pennsylvania Cable Network.
