Students from Southwest University of Political Science and Law in Chongqing Visit Widener Law

HBChinaVisitorsLargeEighteen students from South Southwest University of Political Science and law in Chongqing, China visited Widener Law’s Delaware campus on Monday, July 23rd.

The students, who were accompanied by Vice Dean Jerry Zhu and two chaperons, heard several presentations from Widener Law administrators in Polishook Hall 104. Multicultural Affairs Officer Troy Riddle spoke about the admissions process, Dean of Students Susan Goldberg gave them information on the curriculum, and Assistant Dean for Career Development LeaNora Ruffin spoke about legal careers. Widener Law maintains an exchange program with Southwest University of Political Science and Law, and several of the students in attendance asked many questions about both JD and LLM opportunities at Widener.

After the presentations, Troy gave the students a tour of the campus and then they headed back to New York City from where they will return to China. Vice Dean Zhu noted before he boarded the bus that the experience would be both memorable and life changing for his students.

Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Stephen Wilhite was instrumental in arranging the visit.
