StudentsInClass300px“The Penn Law program gives students the chance to learn about the legal system, and eventually participate in mock trials. The students were bright and enthusiastic, and I look forward to participating in this program again next year,” said Assistant Dean for the Office of Student Affairs and Legal Methods Professor Edmund B. Luce, who participated in the summer workshop to help high school students understand the United States legal system and the legal profession.

Legal Methods Professor and Director of Bar Programs Micah J. Yarbrough joined Legal Writing Professor Iva Ferrell to teach students about the legal system at the Widener-Junior-Senior Summer Challenge, which invites selected rising sophomore, junior, and senior in high school to Widener’s Chester campus in hopes of better preparing them for success in higher education.

“Both Professor Ferrell and I return each summer for the experience. The students, from the Chester-Upland School District, get the opportunity to meet us as lawyers and ask questions about the law and the profession. In the end, we all end up learning from one another,” said Yarbrough.
