Harrisburg Career Development Office Holds Resume and Interview Workshops

The Career Development Office held a resume workshop on February 2nd and an interview workshop on February 9th for students on the Harrisburg campus. Career Development Counselor Natalie G. Einsig hosted both hour-long sessions in L203 at noon.

At the resume workshop, following a PowerPoint presentation, Einsig reviewed the students’ resumes and cover letters with them individually. For those interested in the resume writing tips offered, the PowerPoint presentation is available on the CDO website.

The interview workshop had a similar structure, with a question and answer session for the students following Einsig’s presentation. Einsig recommended showing interest in the position by asking questions that create an active role in the interview. For example, “What would my first project be if I’m hired?” This tactic gives the interviewee a specific idea of what to expect when they start working.

The Career Development Office also provided the students with an interview preparation booklet and an interview skills booklet which both provide invaluable information about the interview process.
