Associate Professor to Speak at the Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman Second Annual Conference

Family will speak on a panel about Judicial Review in the Adjudication of Immigration Applications as part of the Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman Second Annual Conference: Bridging the Inter-Agency Gap to be held on Thursday, October 18th, 2012 at the National Archives in Washington.

The program will begin with registration at 8:00 a.m. with the welcome at 9:00 a.m. United States Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Alejandro Mayorkas will speak after lunch.

“The Ombudsman's conference brings together immigration experts and advocates to discuss how to improve immigration law. It also brings together government leaders from various agencies to discuss issues that cut across agencies,” says Family of the conference.

“I'll be discussing federal court challenges to agency decisions; how the Administrative Procedure Act and the Immigration and Nationality Act combine to govern when the federal courts have jurisdiction over immigration cases,” she adds.
