The Law & Government Institute recently held a special luncheon to honor students who will be graduating with one of the certificates that the Institute awards. Two prominent alumni, Patrick Murphy and Nicole Bordonaro, joined the students and faculty members at the event.

"This was a great opportunity to celebrate and reflect upon the accomplishments of our L&G students," said Professor Jill Family, who serves as the Director of the Law and Government Institute, adding, "We are so grateful that Nicole and Patrick were so generous with their time. Our students were able to ask them questions in a small group setting and to learn from their impressive achievements.”

Nicole M. Bordonaro is currently Executive Deputy General Counsel for Legislative Affairs in the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of General Counsel following her appointment in August of 2012. Prior to that appointment, Ms. Bordonaro worked for the Governor's Office of General Counsel, Department of Education's Office of Chief Counsel. Bordonaro received the 2011 "Governor's Office of General Counsel's Award for Excellence, Energy and Enthusiasm" for her dedication and service to the Commonwealth.

A former two-term U.S. Representative from Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District, Patrick Murphy is currently a Partner with Fox Rothschild LLP in Philadelphia.
